Japan has some unique hand gestures that are good to know.
Here are some basics
Counting on your hands
1-5 are standard on one hand
6-10 are shown by placing digits from your second hand onto the palm of your first hand
I can't help you / no way
Wave one hand in front of your face with palm facing to your left or right
When trying to move through a crowd
Hold up one hand vertically and make a kind of gentle chopping motion to indicate "i'm cutting through"
Saying sorry
depending on context and severity,
Hold up one hand in front of your face, palm to the side and tip your head down slightly
Hold hands together in front of your face as if in prayer
Bowing (deepness indicates level of severity)
No more / Check please
Cross index fingers in front of you
